Lynn Batchelder is a contemporary jeweler working and teaching in the Hudson Valley, NY. Her work is rooted in the drawing process, translating the quality of the drawn line into metal as she seamlessly moves between creating jewelry, objects and drawings. She received an MFA from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a BFA from Western Michigan University. She is the recipient of the 2016 Art Jewelry Forum Artist Award and was a 2015 SNAG Emerging Artist at SOFA Chicago. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, participating in exhibitions in Germany, South Korea, Sweden, and Australia, and has presented solo exhibitions at the Heidi Lowe Gallery, the Gallery at Reinstein|Ross in New York City, and Gallery Loupe in Montclair, NJ. Batchelder has completed residencies at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and the Women’s Studio Workshop, and actively teaches workshops through the various craft school communities. She is currently Associate Professor of Art in the Metal Program at SUNY New Paltz.
